Scary Wall Hanging

This is a great project that you could do for any Holiday, and a fun one to share with the kids. Plus, it's a great use of scrap paper, or if you're a paper hoarder like me it helps get rid of some of those pieces you've been hanging onto. So make room for some new paper and give this project a try.

Party Hat tutorial

Happy Monday to you all! I have a quick little tutorial to share with you today on a quick and easy way to make a personalised birthday hat!

I bought a pack of party hats from my local dollar store, any theme will do. These happened to be the cheapest...perhaps because there aren't so many hockey themed parties right now with the strike on.

...

Step 1: Take one of the party hats apart (keep it as a template) and trace the shape onto the BACK of your patterned paper. I made the lines slightly larger on the left and right side of the hat so that the ends of my patterned paper would end up laying across each other when I fold the paper around the hat.

Step 2: Cut out your hat, it will look something like I have below. Don't worry if you don't cut on the lines exactly because they will be inside the hat.

Step 3: On the back side of your paper attach three strips of double sided tape (make sure it's super sticky). One down the middle and one down the left and right side.

Step 4: Attach the center of the hat to the center strip. make sure that it is centered using the elastics as a guide so that the paper seam will end up on the back of the hat

Step 5: Wrap one side at a time around the hat sticking it down well.

Step 6: admire your adorable creation.

Step 7: Add decorations to personalize your hat. As you can see, I made mine for a little guy's first Birthday. I made a pom pom for the top of the hat and framed the number 1 with a cute acordion flower.

On this project I used the Birthday Boy collection from Bella Blvd. Kristy doesn't have this item in the shop but if you are interested in it you can ask her to order it for you.

There are a ton of other kits you could use from the Scrapbooking Cafe Online store such as these fun Birthday lines from Echo Park or these cheery lines from Jillibean Soup. Or maybe you would like these adorable lines from Doodlebug

The paper don't have to be 'birthday' themed, I think as long as they are bright an colorful they will add charm and character to any celebration...and in my opinion they are SO much cuter than the hats you buy at the dollar store, and so easy to make!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you try making a hat of your own please comment here with the link. I would love to check it out.

Have a great week!

Snowman Poop

Hi all! Today I have a fun little project I love to make!  It super quick and easy to do plus it always makes people laugh!  I have to warn you the photos are not great, my hubby is away with my camera and I had to use my iPhone.  I'm not so great with it :)

So here's the front.  Notice the little tab/flag thingy?  It's actually holding the little case closed!
The trick here is to put dimension foam adhesive on the top and bottom of the snowman and leaving the center open to slip the little tab through.

Surprise!! You got Snowman Poop!
you can download the print sheet of this sentiment on my site here
Want to know how to make it?

Never Ending Turkey Talk

Hi all!  It's getting so close to turkey time I can hardly stand it!  Today I have what I think is the coolest card technique ever!! Thanks to Kristy for hosting a card class at this past weekends Scrapbooing Cafe crop teaching how to make this card.  I thought it was so awesome that I wanted to make a video tutorial to share so you all can try it for yourself.  Here are some pictures of the card decorated with Simple Stories-Harvest Lane 6x6 paper pad.

Winter cards - Quick Tutorial

HI, everyone! You may all call me crazy, but all this heat is making me long for Winter... I know, I know, you are probably saying I must have something wrong in this Brazilian mind, but I had never seen snow until I moved to Canada 4 years ago, so to me and my family, the "white stuff" is still pretty awesome! :)

So, to scare away the heat and to get everyone ready for Winter I decided to share a fun Tutorial on how to create a silhouette card. Here we go:

1. Supplies:
Circle Punch - Fiskars
Square Punch
Ribbon Punch
Buttons
Winter Stamp Set - Inkadinkadoo
Versamark
Embossing Powder - Silver

2. Cut half a circle from the edge of your card using your circle punch

3. Cut a second circle, smaller than the first one and overlapping it as well.

4. Cut a third circle, overlapping with the second and smaller than it.

5. The 3 circles will form half of the body of the snowman.

6. Cut the hat by overlapping your square punch and the smallest circle.

7. You can see the silhouette forming.

8. Using the ribbon punch, cut the lid of the hat.

9. Adhere the buttons on the inside of the card.

10. Using your versamark, the Inkadinakadoo stamps and the embossing powder, add the sentiment and some snowflakes.

11. Here is a closer look on the card.

12. And here is the card ready!

Fun, isn't it? I love to play with my punches...

How about you? Are you already thinking about Christmas?

Thanks for stopping by!
