I don't know about you but I just love Mo Manning images.  And today is the first time I actually own one!  I'm so excited, especially since it features a cat!  I made this card using the really cute paper pack called Cake Walk by October Afternoon and Mo's stamp called Tolerance from Stamping Bella.

Baby Girl card

I got to spend this past Saturday at a crop at our local library. It was great to get to spend a whole day of uninterrupted scrapbooking time with other scrappy friends. I spent the majority of my time working on Christmas presents, but I managed to get a couple of cards made too and I wanted to share one of them with you today.

I've been sharing a lot of seasonal projects lately and I wanted to change it up a bit with this sweet baby girl card.

When I saw this 'BIG news' sticker in the Woodland Park kit from October Afternoon, I knew immediately I wanted to make a baby girl card with it. I used the beautiful and soft pink and cream pattern from the same kit as the background paper.

I layered a white doily on top of the patterned paper and then just layered a bunch of fun pink and white flowers on top. And of course I had to sew some sweet buttons to make flower centers.

I tied some pink twine around the whole card three times and then tied a big bow. Four white photo corners finished it off.

This is a simple card and I think it could be recreated for a number of different themes or occasions. I had a vision of it made in Christmas colors since the center emebllishments remind me of a wreath.

you are fabulous!

It snowed last night and it has been cold enough today for some of it to even stick around. While the pretty white flakes were falling down I was snug at my desk making something bright and colourful.

I just got the Woodland Park Collection from October Afternoon and I just had to dive right in! It is so beautiful :) I think it is out of stock at the store right now but if you love it as much as I do, let Kristy know and she'll order you one right away.

I've only had time to make one card so far, but I know there is a layout in my near future with this awesome kit.

So anywho; here's my card...

The yellow lace trim is new from Bo Bunny. You may have noticed that I use lace on my cards a lot, so I was SO EXCITED when this new lace came out...I've got it in every colour!!! Before I only had white lace, and sometimes I would colour it with Copic Markers to get the colour I want, but this is so much easier!

Make a Splash

Good morning!  Today I have a fun little card to show you using the new paper set called Cake Walk by October Afternoon.  I love this paper pack, it's so cute and vintage.  I didn't have a wave punch so I drew some random "c" shapes and cut them out of blue cardstock.

The clouds are from Memory Box and I added glitter from Stampendous called Shaved Ice and the stamps are from There She Goes called Make a Splash.

Don't forget your backpack!

Hi, everyone! Dani Donner here today bringing you some Too Cool for School altered project and a tutorial. I found this super cute altered item at Lisa Storms' website (one talented lady) and fell madly in love with them. SO this week I decided to give one for each of my boys' teachers and here is the tutorial:

I used the Best Glue Ever to cover the small cardboard box (don't forget to lightly sand it, helps adhere the paper) with pattern paper. Added a pattern paper lid to the back of the box. You may want to put a small magnet in the lid and seal it in with some cardboard to make things sturdier. Embellish the front. Add two stripes of pattern paper to the back to complete the backpack and... Done! You have a cute little backpack that you can ill with chocolate and give as a gift for the teacher or even or other students (imagine a Halloween themed one, cute!). Simply The Best

Hi Scrapbooking Cafe Fans I am sharing some more October Afternoon today :) I love this collection it's called Woodland Park I know Kristy is finding it VERY hard to keep this one in stock so if you need it (which you so do) Grab it NOW... if it's gone ask to go on Kristy's wait list :)

So Woodland Park I love October Afternoon I saw this release just before the Summer CHA and knew I had to have it right away but unfortunately I had to test my patience :) But it's here now and it was well worth the wait.

I love my two girls to pieces to me they really are the best I could wish for. so thats where I come up with the title they are Simply the Best :) Of course my Son is pretty awesome too but thats another page :)

I used a black fine tip pen to outline the letters of the title.

 I also layers the paper strips with ribbon those of you who know my style now know that I LOVE texture.

Full of Wonder

Hi everyone! Dani here to share with you my latest page. This time I wanted to go bold and bright, and play with some layers.

Even though I have two boys, I keep gravitating to funky pinks and oranges. The result? Lot's of Pink Boys Layouts, lol.

I am not afraid of using pink for my boys, specially if I'm going for bright and bold. You can use pink and flowers and still end up with a non girlish page.

It is just a matter of choosing what will be the spotlight on your page and work around it. A little bit of Cameo work, and you have a quick and funky page.

Mixed Media Canvas

Hi Ladies I received the wonderful cakewalk collection by October Afternoon from the Scrapbooking Cafe and I didnt have any birthday party pictures ready to print or use so I jumped back onto the Mixed Media wagon and created this canvas. I LOVE the way it turned out. I used lots of supplies from Kristy's store :)

Have you tried mixed media yet? It really is very easy and very forgiving if you make any mistakes.

I layered the background with tissue paper and then painted with liquitex paints. 

Here is a close up of the fence I hand cut each piece with bazzill cardstock.

NYC - the mini

HI there! Dani here today to show that even an "office line" can work for many different projects, even travel mini-albums! :)

Yes, yes! I have used my most beloved October Afternoon - 9 to 5 (I really do love that line!) to create my entire mini-album for my trip to the Big Apple! And I think it looks so cool...

Here is one of the pages inside, sorry I tried to take more pictures, but the pages don't open flat (and my finger is NOT part of the mini, believe me).

One thing that I truly love about this project is the biding.. I found this super clever, super simple, super cute way to bind your books somewhere on the internet and I knew I had to use it to my next mini, just 2 holes in all pages (hello crop-a-dile) an elastic band and a paperclip! Brilliant! (And it holds very well!!!!)

I hope you have enjoyed a peek into my mini. I sure had lots of fun creating it...

Welcome to a new week! Becky here with a little card inspiration for you today. Last week I shared a layout using the Cakewalk line from October Afternoon. If you missed it you can check it out HERE. And today I have a card to share.

Now the 'A' sides of the Cakewalk line are definitely birthday themed, but the great thing about October Afternoon (and many other manufactures as well) is that the 'B' sides of their papers coordinate, but do not have a specific theme. My card today uses 'B' side papers so that you can see you can use the Cakewalk line to make something that is NOT birthday related.

I hope you are inspired to look more closely at a collection and see past it's main theme and imagine all the other possibilities it holds!

Great Wolf

Hi, everyone! Dani here to share with you my greatest passion at the moment: mists and anything ink/paint/watercolor related! I have to say that this more artsy trend in scrapbooking got a hold of my heart... *sigh* I just love the look and the texture added to all those techniques, so... I created a LO using ALL-OF-THEM! :D

For Mothers day this year we got to take the whole family to Great Wolf in Niagara Falls! We had so much and the weather helped! A warm day in May allowed us take a picture outside! In T-shirts, people!! The boys want to go back for their birthdays, lol!

I have misted and added a thin layer of white paint to mute the colour a little bit. For teh title, I used my water colors on some American Crafts fabric thickers, creating an Ombré effect (cool, huh!).

it's time to celebrate 5!!!

Hello friends! Welcome to a new week. I hope you had a fun and relaxing weekend. As you are reading this I am on the road with my family to BC's Okanagan region for the next week! I am super excited to have this time away and I look forward to sharing my scrapbooked adventures with you when we get home!

Today I have a bright, fun, cheery layout to share with you. I used the Cakewalk Collection from October Afternoon to try to catch up on some of my daughters past birthday photos. Today we celebrate her 5th birthday! (5 years or so late, lol)

 I created a fun and interactive confetti pocket on this layout. I used various sized punches to punch out a punch of circles and then used my sewing machine to stitch around a piece of vellum trapping the confetti inside.

I have been seeing confetti and confetti pockets a lot in galleries lately and I wanted to give it a try. It is really fun and I love how it turned out! I hope you'll give it a try.

Celebrating with a card

Dani here, back from NYC! Yes, baby! The trip was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Now I can't wait to start on my NYC mini-album (remember the cover?). But, before I let I create a simple card to give my husband during our 10th anniversary dinner. Hello NYC!!

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share my excitement. Friday my husband and I will be heading to NYC (yep, the Big Apple itself) to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary, my favourite detail: NO KIDS ALLOWED!! YAY!!!

So, to get this parted started and already anticipating the gazillion pictures I will take, I started to work on my minibook for the trip. Can you tell that I'm excited? Well, I am!

new kitten!

Happy Monday to you all, I hope you had a great weekend. It is HOT HOT HOT where I am, and supposed to stay hot the rest of the week. If it is hot where you are I hope you will grab yourself a glass of something yummy and ice cold and check out what I have to share with you today.

We've had an exciting addition to our little family in the past few weeks. We got a new kitten. My daughter has been dying for a kitty ever since she was tiny (as a matter of fact kitty was her first word!) so she is THRILLED with the new addition. We got her from a local horse ranch where she had been rescued from a log pile. A family of skunks moved in and it looked like her momma moved all the other kittens out of the log pile and left her behind. Some of the ranch hands found her and took care of her for  a few days until a home could be found. They started calling her Paisley and when we met her we thought the name was perfect, so Paisley she is!

The Farmhouse Collection from October Afternoon was perfect for this layout. I love the pattern that says Milk, Butter, and Cream on it, it is just right for a kitten page!
