Fabulous Fall layout

Here we are on another lovely holiday Monday. This holiday has been brought to us by the brave men and women who fought for the freedom we enjoy today; and for that I am truly thankful. Lest we Forget.

Last week I shared a tag with you, if you missed that post, you can check it out here.  This week, I promised that I would show you what I decided to do with it. So here it is...

I made a pretty simple layout because I wanted the photo to stand out. I started with the base wood grain paper from My Minds Eye and then mixed some Simple Stories papers from their 6x6 pads. I used Harvest Lane and FabUlous.

See that wood grain brad and orange button below the tag? Well they are both covering up seams where I had to piece papers together.  I just love the smaller patterns that come in the 6x6 pads but obviously the papers are too small to go the length of a traditional 12x12 layout. That's OK! I just cut two strips and overlapped them slightly. I used the embellishments to cover up the seams so they are not so noticeable. The orange damask paper is also two pieces from a 6x6 pad, but the tag covers up that seam...easy peasy!

Heaven's Rejoice

Hello Scrapbooking Cafe Friends!  Hope that you are having a great week! It's Anita and I have been busy over here preparing for my daughter's 7th Birthday party!  She loves crafts (of course she is my daughter) so I've been planning all sorts of crafts!  I worry we won't have enough time, but that's better than not having enough, right?

Today I have a Christmas card to share!  I used one of my favorite Holiday pads, the Simple Stories Handmade Holiday 6 by 6 pad along with Hero Arts stamps, Scrapbooking Cafe has some of the new Hero Arts Holiday Stamp sets along with lots of the new inks!  You can find them here.  And here is my card:

I heat embossed in red the wise men and star from the Heaven's Rejoice stamp set onto a piece of patterned paper from the Handmade Holidays pad.  Scrapbooking Cafe has lots of Embossing powders, you can find them here.  Tied a bow and added some lace!  :>  I am really happy with this card!

Fabulous Fall tag

I can't believe it is November right now! It is an absolutely gorgeous day here. As I type this it is currently 16 degrees and the sun is shining! I am a little late getting my post up today as I just had to take advantage of this glorious weather and I took the littles for a walk in our community forest.

With this beautiful weather, I just can't get into the Christmas spirit quite yet so I have another fall project to share with you. Today I made this cute little tag...

I used a manila tag from my stash as the base and added a piece from the Harvest Lane 6x6 pad from Simple Stories on top. I distressed the edges with some Vintage Photo distress ink.

This tag came together really quick because I just layered up a bunch of stickers from the Harvest Lane 12x12 Sticker sheet and added a fabulous 'Fabulous' die cut from the Pink Paislee Portfolio Ephemera..

I haven't quite decided what I am going to do with this tag yet, but I have some fall photos of my kiddos that still need scrapping so I think I might use it on a layout.

Peace Love and Joy

Hello Scrapbook Cafe Friends!  It's Anita here today with a Holiday card to share!  I am now truly into Holiday cards and loving it!  I am playing once again with Memory Box's Leaping Deer and Simple Stories Handmade Holidays!

I stamped the kraft cardstock with a Hero Arts snowflake background in white ink, than I dragged the edges through the ink pad, I like the look it gives!  Made the deer a Rudolf (can't help it!)   As I have mentioned before I enjoy making multiples of Holiday cards I've figured out for me that 4 is my magic number it's not too many cards and I enjoy making all 4 and I usually have enough product to make 4!

Happy Monday friends! Welcome to a new week. Becky here from Scrap Circus to share a little card with you.

Now, I am not quite as keen as my fellow DT members to break into the Christmas and Winter projects so here is a fall themed card.

The green gingham background paper and the 'count your blessings' tag are from the Harvest Lane 6x6 pad. The dark wood grain paper is from the Take a Hike Journal Inserts.

The jar sticker comes from the 12x12 Fundamental sticker sheet from Harvest Lane.  I finished off the card by attaching some cream coloured lace ribbon with my Tiny Attacher and wrapping the whole card with some hemp twine that I finished off with a bow and a cute button.

As a final touch I punched out some hearts using my Spellbinders dies and lined them up along the side of the dark wood grain paper.

Happy Leaping Deer Card!

Hello Scrapbooking Cafe friends!  Hope your having a terrific day!  It's Anita here today and I have a Holiday card to share today!  My card features a whole lotta Scrapbooking Cafe's products, and hot ones at that!  Hexagons are all the rage and I love the Spellbinder Nestabilities ones!  I die cut them with paper from Simple Stories Handmade Holiday pad!  And I used a great Holiday die Leaping Deer by Memory Box!

I added ribbon and a bow and a sentiment from Hero Arts Happy Holidays set.  Turned the deer into rudolf with a red gem! :>

Leaping Deer Christmas Cards!

Hello!  It's Anita and today I have some Christmas cards to share!  I am officially into Christmas card making mode!  And I am very excited for that!  Today I used Memory Box's die Leaping Deer along with Simple stories Handmade Holiday 6 by 6 pad !

Often when I make Christmas cards I make more than 1, especially if I really like the card.  I find it's a great way to have enough cards, this time I made 4:

I did two with the same sentiment, here are all four:

First I heat embossed the sentiment by Hero Arts with red powder and than overstamped with Frost White pigment ink by colorbox the Snowdots background stamp by Hero Arts.  I let it dry a bit and than took a wet paper towel and dabbed at the sentiment to get the white ink off of it.  I die cut the leaping deer with brown cardstock and cut two sheets of the simple stories pad into strips, border punching one of them.  I also swept each edge of the card with white ink.  Really happy with how this card turned out.  Love this Leapind Deer die, next time he's going to be Rudolf!  

I love how dies can makes crafting faster, I made up these cards this morning in between my mommy duties!

Eat Ham

Hi everyone Melyssa here with another card using the sweet little paper pack called Simple Stories-Harvest Lane.  I love the rich Autumn colours of this paper. I think it makes a great combo for Thanksgiving cards or layouts. The little turkey is a digi stamp. ;)

Never Ending Turkey Talk

Hi all!  It's getting so close to turkey time I can hardly stand it!  Today I have what I think is the coolest card technique ever!! Hello friends!

It is now officially fall, although it is a bit hard to tell with the weather being so hot here in BC. Our Canadian Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away so I figured what better time to make a Thankful card.

I just got  the Harvest Lane 6x6 pad from Simple Stories. I just looooove this collection! The colors are absolutely gorgeous! Fall is definitely my favorite season; I love the cool, sunny days and the crisp leaves, pumpkins, halloween, all of it!

I made this card with my new goodies...

I was so excited to dive in and use this beautiful collection that I think I got overwhelmed and hit a design road block. Does that ever happen to you? You love something so much that you don't know where to start?

Eventually I was able to come up with something, but for as simple as this card is, it sure did take me a loooong time to make! LOL

Thanks - quick card

Hi, everyone! Dani here to share with you a SUPER DUPER quick card I made. There are some products that are created to make your life easier, the sticker sheets are one of them! I had to create a thank you card and had just a few minutes to do, so... What do you do when you start to panic? Breath inside a paper bag? Hummm, that's a good advice... But in my case I turn to my cute Simple Stories stickers! So, with o further ado, here is the card:

I mixed a lot of different lines here, but they worked very well together. And you will understand why I love the Simple Stories stickers so much with that detail shot:

They are "pop up ready"! Yes, same flowers in the sheet, perfect for layering... Score!!!

Summer Fresh Cards 3

I hope the weather where you are is as lovely and sunny as it is here this week. Please sit back with a glass of something cool and check out what I have to share today.

I have my last two cards from the set I made with the Summer Fresh collection from Simple Stories. If you missed my last two posts you can see the cards I made HERE and HERE.

This line is so easy to work with. The Simple Stories line has various sized elements like 2x12 and 6x4, 3x4 and 6x8, 4x4 and of course 12x12.  it makes it so easy to throw a layout or several cards together in no time flat! Each collection also comes with two 12x12 sheets of stickers; 1 of elements and one of letters and words.

 Everything on this card is from the kit except for the few little embellishments I added for dimension but you could definitely make it without them. I love the scalloped border sticker with the denim pattern. For some dimension, I stapled the lace ribbon over top of it with the Tiny Attacher from Tim Holtz.

The little wagon sticker is so sweet! It just screams summer all filled with lovely flowers.  I layered some of the other included stickers to make the sentiment

For my last card I used one of my favorite techniques! I embossed the base cardstock. This is such a simple detail to add to any project but I just love the look of it. For this card I used the Garden Flowers embossing folder from Crafts Too.

The main feature of the card, the pocket, is a sticker from the collection. I popped it up to add dimension and cut up strips of the various patterned papers from the kit and made them into little flags that I tucked underneath. I matted a sentiment sticker onto burlap fabric to add some texture and then added another little sticker and a button to tie it all together.

Summer Fresh Cards 2

It's a new week and I am back as promised with some more cards that I made with the Summer Fresh line from Simple Stories. If you missed last weeks cards, you can see them HERE

My first card I went in a totally different direction than the line would suggest. I left out the flowery, summery patterns and went for a more masculine feel for this card. I loooove the white embossed background!

Summer Fresh cards

Happy Monday! I was lucky enough to have a three day weekend, so I'm feeling refreshed and ready for a new week!  Today I want to share the first in a series of cards I have made with the Summer Fresh collection from Simple Stories. I am absolutely LOVING this line! I got on a major roll and made a bunch of cards that I want to share with you, but I can't just put them all out at once! I've gotta create some suspence right?!?!

I love how my first card turned out...aren't those strawberry stickers sweet?!? (pun intended) I used burlap to mat the sentiment, it gave the card great texture.

A funny little story to go with my second card. I used my sewing machine to stich around the paper with the text on it. I decided to add this detail after I had finished the card so I had to be careful to avoid the embellishments with the machine. Well, while I was being so careful, I didn't unfold the card and I ended up sewing it shut! LOL :) Now my card is a little front heavy but I don't think anyone will be able to tell I made a mistake.
