First Day of School Card!

Hello there!  It's Thursday and it's Anita from http://www.craftygrldesigns.blogspot.com/  today is my daughter's first day of Grade 2!  Boo!  I love having her home with me and I can't believe that she is in grade 2 already!  Previous years I cried a lot but this year I managed only to get teared up!  :>

Today I have a card to share that I made for her lunch!  I always make her a card for her first day, and in case I forgot she reminded me!  LOL  I used some Lawn Fawn Stamps My Silly Valentine, Scrapbooking Cafe Online is getting some Lawn Fawn Stamps very soon!  I also used the Hello Summer pad by Echo Park!  

I stamped the apple from the My Silly Valentine set and paper pieced him with cardstock and added some googly eyes!  I thought that this apple and the sentiment was a great one for the first day of school!  I also used the Polaroid stamp from the Say Cheese set by Lawn Fawn!  I also used the Binding Edge Punch by Ek Success. And I used some bakers twine, Scrapbooking Cafe has a lot of twine you can see some here.

Summer papers for Christmas cards

Well it's another hump day and I thought it might be......well I hope it will be fun to see some Christmas cards.  I know it's waaaaaay to early BUT if your someone who likes to make their own cards to send to family and friends then it's never to early to start.  Unfortunately I'm not one of those people.  I tried to keep them simple (thinking I may just make them this year) and quick.

And for some reason last week Blogger would not let me upload my cards so I missed my post.  Sorry about that.  I thought I'd share my cards now since you didn't get to see them.

Did you ever buy something you just had to have and then bring it home and forget about it?  Well today's cards feature a stamp set I just couldn't wait to get my hands on it's from Dear Lizzy and it's called Mason Jar, now skip ahead about a month and I finally got around to using the "must have" stamps. :)

Hi everyone! Dani here to share with you my latest page. This time I wanted to go bold and bright, and play with some layers.

Even though I have two boys, I keep gravitating to funky pinks and oranges. The result? Lot's of Pink Boys Layouts, lol.

I am not afraid of using pink for my boys, specially if I'm going for bright and bold. You can use pink and flowers and still end up with a non girlish page.

It is just a matter of choosing what will be the spotlight on your page and work around it. A little bit of Cameo work, and you have a quick and funky page.

Happy Labor Day Monday friends! Being that it is a long weekend I just wanted to share a quick little project today. I need to send a thank you card so I just whipped this up. I love the bright fun colours in the Happy Days Collection from Echo Park.

 I mixed up the patterns with some fun banners and added a little strip of washi tape. I love combining many different patterns and textures on my projects.

I framed the cards sentiment with the small doily from the Decorative Doily Duo and tied some bakers twine through the holes.

Scrap Circus

Mixed Media Canvas

Hi Ladies I received the wonderful cakewalk collection by October Afternoon from the Scrapbooking Cafe and I didnt have any birthday party pictures ready to print or use so I jumped back onto the Mixed Media wagon and created this canvas. I LOVE the way it turned out. I used lots of supplies from Kristy's store :)

Have you tried mixed media yet? It really is very easy and very forgiving if you make any mistakes.

I layered the background with tissue paper and then painted with liquitex paints. 

Here is a close up of the fence I hand cut each piece with bazzill cardstock.

What's Up?

Hello!  Happy Thursday!  It's Anita here from http://craftygrldesigns.blogspot.com/   Today I have a card to share!  I paired a Memory Box die, Honeyblossom Spring with  a Basic Grey 6 by 6 pad, What's Up!  

I die cut the Honeyblossom bloom die from red bazzill cardstock, I used a piece of the pp from the What's Up pad and distressed the edges with a distress tool and pumice stone distress ink by ranger.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts it's actually Hello handsome but I love the Hello so much I cut it apart (no worries I can put it back together on the block to use it together if I want!)  Added some twine and a button!

NYC - the mini

HI there! Dani here today to show that even an "office line" can work for many different projects, even travel mini-albums! :)

Yes, yes! I have used my most beloved October Afternoon - 9 to 5 (I really do love that line!) to create my entire mini-album for my trip to the Big Apple! And I think it looks so cool...

Here is one of the pages inside, sorry I tried to take more pictures, but the pages don't open flat (and my finger is NOT part of the mini, believe me).

One thing that I truly love about this project is the biding.. I found this super clever, super simple, super cute way to bind your books somewhere on the internet and I knew I had to use it to my next mini, just 2 holes in all pages (hello crop-a-dile) an elastic band and a paperclip! Brilliant! (And it holds very well!!!!)

I hope you have enjoyed a peek into my mini. I sure had lots of fun creating it...
