I don't know about you but I just love Mo Manning images. And today is the first time I actually own one! I'm so excited, especially since it features a cat! I made this card using the really cute paper pack called Cake Walk by October Afternoon and Mo's stamp called Tolerance from Stamping Bella.
Supplies can be found at Scrapbooking Cafe. If you don't see it don't worry, just let Kristy know and she'll set you up. :)

Party Hat tutorial
Happy Monday to you all! I have a quick little tutorial to share with you today on a quick and easy way to make a personalised birthday hat!
I bought a pack of party hats from my local dollar store, any theme will do. These happened to be the cheapest...perhaps because there aren't so many hockey themed parties right now with the strike on.
Step 1: Take one of the party hats apart (keep it as a template) and trace the shape onto the BACK of your patterned paper. I made the lines slightly larger on the left and right side of the hat so that the ends of my patterned paper would end up laying across each other when I fold the paper around the hat.
Step 2: Cut out your hat, it will look something like I have below. Don't worry if you don't cut on the lines exactly because they will be inside the hat.
Step 3: On the back side of your paper attach three strips of double sided tape (make sure it's super sticky). One down the middle and one down the left and right side.
Step 4: Attach the center of the hat to the center strip. make sure that it is centered using the elastics as a guide so that the paper seam will end up on the back of the hat
Step 5: Wrap one side at a time around the hat sticking it down well.
Step 6: admire your adorable creation.
Step 7: Add decorations to personalize your hat. As you can see, I made mine for a little guy's first Birthday. I made a pom pom for the top of the hat and framed the number 1 with a cute acordion flower.
On this project I used the Birthday Boy collection from Bella Blvd. Kristy doesn't have this item in the shop but if you are interested in it you can ask her to order it for you.
There are a ton of other kits you could use from the Scrapbooking Cafe Online store such as these fun Birthday lines from Echo Park or these cheery lines from Jillibean Soup. Or maybe you would like these adorable lines from Doodlebug
The paper don't have to be 'birthday' themed, I think as long as they are bright an colorful they will add charm and character to any celebration...and in my opinion they are SO much cuter than the hats you buy at the dollar store, and so easy to make!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you try making a hat of your own please comment here with the link. I would love to check it out.
Have a great week!

Hello Scrapbook Cafe Friends!! Hope you are having a great Thursday! Over here in Winnipeg it is very icy! The last couple days it was warm and overnight it got cold again, well I think you can go ice skating down the streets today! I had the kids all dressed up, backpacks packed half the morning battle done before we realized how bad it is out there! I was a determined Mother to get them to school as I would have the whole day to myself! Proud to say that I drove very slowly and my daughter prayed the whole way (she told me) and we made it! I've been enjoying crafting and cleaning and laundry!
Today I have some cards to share using a new stamp set, Hero Arts and Sizzix Snowflake and Emboss Stamp set! I love this set as you can stamp and than emboss the snowflakes! And with Holiday cards I love having a snowflake background! I also used Hero Arts Very Best Holiday wreath stamp!
I heat embossed the sentiment onto red cardstock. Here is a side view, you can really see the embossing!
Well that's it for me! I've got to run and pick up the kids from school! Wish me luck as I hit the icy streets!

happy and bright
I love taking diagonal paper and using just a little of it to frame something. It always reminds me of candy canes. And I love candy canes. Keep it simple, let the pattern do the work at highlighting your card.

Altered Frame
Hi everyone! Dani Donner here today bringing you a cute altered frame I did or my cousin. She is expecting her first child, a girl, and her name will be Manuela. So I wanted to give her a simple frame to hang at her nursery wall and my first thought was Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic, from American Crafts!
This collection is a dream come true to every little girl out there... Just dreamy with it's light pink, yellow and teal. :)
With the help of some Acrylic Paint and my beloved Silhouette Cameo I finished up this frame in no time.
How about you? Do you like to alter items around the house? Have you tried creating monograms from scratch like this one? Share your creations with us!
See you soon,
Dani Donner

Baby Girl card
I got to spend this past Saturday at a crop at our local library. It was great to get to spend a whole day of uninterrupted scrapbooking time with other scrappy friends. I spent the majority of my time working on Christmas presents, but I managed to get a couple of cards made too and I wanted to share one of them with you today.
I've been sharing a lot of seasonal projects lately and I wanted to change it up a bit with this sweet baby girl card.
When I saw this 'BIG news' sticker in the Woodland Park kit from October Afternoon, I knew immediately I wanted to make a baby girl card with it. I used the beautiful and soft pink and cream pattern from the same kit as the background paper.
I layered a white doily on top of the patterned paper and then just layered a bunch of fun pink and white flowers on top. And of course I had to sew some sweet buttons to make flower centers.
I tied some pink twine around the whole card three times and then tied a big bow. Four white photo corners finished it off.
This is a simple card and I think it could be recreated for a number of different themes or occasions. I had a vision of it made in Christmas colors since the center emebllishments remind me of a wreath.
Make sure you check out what's NEW in the store!! Kristy is adding products almost daily!
Have a great week :)

Hexagon Gift Bag!
Hello Scrapbooking Cafe Friends! It's Anita! Hope your having a great week! A few of the other girls on the blog here have shared about there beautiful weather. Well my friends that is not the case for me! Here in Winnipeg we had a huge snowfall this past weekend! They actually had called for a blizzard but luckily that didn't happen but we did get so much snow! We are into winter here for sure! But I am thankful that the sun is shining, it had been such a dreary fall!
Today I have a gift bag to share! I love making gift bags! It's a such a great touch when you give a gift that you decorated the gift bag! You can find plain kraft gift bags anywhere and than decorate it yourself! Today I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Hexagon dies along with Echo Parks Everyday Eclectric 6 by 6 pad!
Pretty simple I just die cut the hexagons from the pp and found a place for them and adhered it to the bag! Added a pretty ribbon bow and there you go! Fun to make and fun to give!
I hope I've inspired you to decorate a gift bag when you give a gift too!

a simple Merry Christmas
Oh my what an absolute gorgeous week we were having here in the Maritimes. Today it's raining like it needs to catch up for the last few days. Which has absolutely nothing to do with my card today.LOL Today I have a card that at first I wasn't sure of. I wanted to keep it really clean and simple but was afraid it was to simple. That there wasn't enough contrast to help it stand out. The Flowering Tree die from Memory Box is just so pretty I thought it could stand on it's own in white on white. Of course I couldn't leave it like that, I had to add some colour and so then the challenge was to add as little colour as possible. I started with the red for part of the sentiment and it still wasn't popping. So I dug around until I found my stickles and added a few drops of red, set the card aside and waited until morning. I love the result!

Be Awesome
HI everyone! Dani Donner here bringing you an express card. Yep, it took me less than 10 minutes to make this fall inspired card, and it was all possible thanks to Hero Arts amazing stamps! The trick is to match the Large Solid Flower with the Large Open Flower, contrasting Fall colours and there you have it! A fun card in record time:
I could have aligned the stamps better, but I wanted the "misplaced" look (and also wanted to break my 15 minutes record, lol).
I love those stamps so much that I'm already planing to bring them back on a Christmas card, so stay tunned!

Fabulous Fall layout
Here we are on another lovely holiday Monday. This holiday has been brought to us by the brave men and women who fought for the freedom we enjoy today; and for that I am truly thankful. Lest we Forget.
Last week I shared a tag with you, if you missed that post, you can check it out here. This week, I promised that I would show you what I decided to do with it. So here it is...
I made a pretty simple layout because I wanted the photo to stand out. I started with the base wood grain paper from My Minds Eye and then mixed some Simple Stories papers from their 6x6 pads. I used Harvest Lane and FabUlous.
See that wood grain brad and orange button below the tag? Well they are both covering up seams where I had to piece papers together. I just love the smaller patterns that come in the 6x6 pads but obviously the papers are too small to go the length of a traditional 12x12 layout. That's OK! I just cut two strips and overlapped them slightly. I used the embellishments to cover up the seams so they are not so noticeable. The orange damask paper is also two pieces from a 6x6 pad, but the tag covers up that seam...easy peasy!

Heaven's Rejoice
Hello Scrapbooking Cafe Friends! Hope that you are having a great week! It's Anita and I have been busy over here preparing for my daughter's 7th Birthday party! She loves crafts (of course she is my daughter) so I've been planning all sorts of crafts! I worry we won't have enough time, but that's better than not having enough, right?
Today I have a Christmas card to share! I used one of my favorite Holiday pads, the Simple Stories Handmade Holiday 6 by 6 pad along with Hero Arts stamps, Scrapbooking Cafe has some of the new Hero Arts Holiday Stamp sets along with lots of the new inks! You can find them here. And here is my card:
I heat embossed in red the wise men and star from the Heaven's Rejoice stamp set onto a piece of patterned paper from the Handmade Holidays pad. Scrapbooking Cafe has lots of Embossing powders, you can find them here. Tied a bow and added some lace! :> I am really happy with this card!
Well that's it from me! I've got to run and pull out the cheesecake from the oven! See you soon!

Bird Cage gift tags
The minute I saw the bird cage die from Poppy Stamps Dies I knew I had to have it. I wasn't sure what I was going to do when I got it but I just had have it. So today I was inspired to use the die and make some Christmas tags with it. So I die cut and inked them with Antique Linen by Ranger and started decorating with the Winter Wonderland paper pad by My Mind's Eye. I had some left over Poinsettia pieces (Spellbinders) and some snowflakes (Martha Stewart).

So Awesome
Hi, everyone! Dani here today to share an Awesome collection with you. If I say "Prima" I would bet the first things that come to your mind are flowers and all things girlie, right? So someone like me, who has 2 boys, would rarely be caught using anything Prima, right? I'll prove you wrong! Actually, Prima did by releasing the amazing collection Craftsman, rich colors with a manly theme, pure bliss!! They even have their a Washi Tape that goes together with the paper pad and embellishments, now that's a whole other level of awesome, don't you think?
So take a look at this collection (and the washi) in action here:
Isn't it perfect for all the men in your life???
See you all soon,

Fabulous Fall tag
I can't believe it is November right now! It is an absolutely gorgeous day here. As I type this it is currently 16 degrees and the sun is shining! I am a little late getting my post up today as I just had to take advantage of this glorious weather and I took the littles for a walk in our community forest.
With this beautiful weather, I just can't get into the Christmas spirit quite yet so I have another fall project to share with you. Today I made this cute little tag...
I used a manila tag from my stash as the base and added a piece from the Harvest Lane 6x6 pad from Simple Stories on top. I distressed the edges with some Vintage Photo distress ink.
This tag came together really quick because I just layered up a bunch of stickers from the Harvest Lane 12x12 Sticker sheet and added a fabulous 'Fabulous' die cut from the Pink Paislee Portfolio Ephemera..
I haven't quite decided what I am going to do with this tag yet, but I have some fall photos of my kiddos that still need scrapping so I think I might use it on a layout.
Check back next week to see what I use it on...

Peace Love and Joy
Hello Scrapbook Cafe Friends! It's Anita here today with a Holiday card to share! I am now truly into Holiday cards and loving it! I am playing once again with Memory Box's Leaping Deer and Simple Stories Handmade Holidays!
I stamped the kraft cardstock with a Hero Arts snowflake background in white ink, than I dragged the edges through the ink pad, I like the look it gives! Made the deer a Rudolf (can't help it!) As I have mentioned before I enjoy making multiples of Holiday cards I've figured out for me that 4 is my magic number it's not too many cards and I enjoy making all 4 and I usually have enough product to make 4!
Well that's it from me! Thank you for stopping in today! :>
