Quick Masculine Birthday Cards
Hello Happy Thursday! It's me Anita from http://craftygrldesigns.blogspot.ca/ So on Saturday I realized that we were going to the inlaws to celebrate two of my brother in laws birthdays and I didn't have any masculine birthday cards left. Did I mention that I realized this at 25 minutes before we were supposed to leave? Oh boy! I like to make cards and have them on hand for when I need them, but I had run out of masculine cards! And I feel that since I do make cards I should have some to give them! Our family is big on giving cards! Why is that I just don't make enough of them when we celebrate just as many men birthdays as women? I think I could spend a whole month just making masculine birthday cards and maybe just maybe I could catch up. I quickly ran to my dining craft table and somehow came up with two cards, they had to be the same if I stood a chance! When I first got the Poppy Stamps Lorelei die I had been playing with it and had tucked in the die cut pieces in the envelope. I decided I would use those! Than I also had a bunch of label dies and decided to use that too. I quickly stamped the Newspaper background and sentiment by Hero Arts. What took the longest was putting glue on the die! I added a button and threaded one with orange bakers twine and one without because I couldn't decide what looked better!
Not bad for in a hurry desperately need cards, card right? Well that's it from me! Hope I've inspired you to look at your scraps when your in a hurry! The scraps saved me! See you next Thursday!

Celebrate You today
A few weeks back I tried to make a simple card using the Darla Butterfly die, I knew I wanted it to be as simple as can be with a white background and the solid Butterfly die with maybe a few of them cut from pattern paper (Nostalgia-My Mind's Eye). I did this and put it aside because I was lost. I didn't know what to do with it. So finally I had enough and embellished it. :) So here's my card with a little lace, button, twine and pin.

You are Amazing - birthday card
Hi, everyone! Dani here to share a fun card I made for my oldest son. Yesterday was his 8th birthday (where on Earth did time go?) and I couldn't resist the urge of making him a funky card.
I have seen this technique over on Pinterest (I'm slightly addicted, I'll admit) and was DIEing to try it. So... Scrapbooking Cafe Online helped me there, :)
So for this one I used my Die-namics Chevron Stripes die, I die-cut many stripes of different papers from the super awesome Jillibean Soup Macho Nacho collection, glued them one after the other on a piece of cardstock then cut it in stripes every time the chevron would "change course". After that, I glued them down on a different piece of cardstock, but making them uneven (the pattern paper would be one chevron up it's match).
I finished up with some twine lollypops and a cool die-cut from the Macho Nacho. VoilĂ ! A fun card for a funlittle wait not that little anymore, OMG I'm getting old! boy!!!
Thanks for stopping by!

so thankful
Hello friends!
It is now officially fall, although it is a bit hard to tell with the weather being so hot here in BC. Our Canadian Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away so I figured what better time to make a Thankful card.
I just got the Harvest Lane 6x6 pad from Simple Stories. I just looooove this collection! The colors are absolutely gorgeous! Fall is definitely my favorite season; I love the cool, sunny days and the crisp leaves, pumpkins, halloween, all of it!
I made this card with my new goodies...
I was so excited to dive in and use this beautiful collection that I think I got overwhelmed and hit a design road block. Does that ever happen to you? You love something so much that you don't know where to start?
Eventually I was able to come up with something, but for as simple as this card is, it sure did take me a loooong time to make! LOL

School Days
Hi Scrapbooking Cafe Online Fans, Im here today to share a layout featuring Authentiques Curiosity, Its funny as I didn't realise this was a themed collection when I ordered it... I loved the colours so much.
It has a funky school theme to it and not in the true traditional school theme colours which I LOVE I find most school collections are very bright. This one is nice and mellow with great designs.
I created a layout with the collection and added a few Prima's and Tim Holtz embellishments Lastly some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze I dont think Kristy stocks the glaze yet but maybe we should ask her... :)
The Glimmer Glaze looks so much like ink splots I love it.
Thats all from me today have a wonderful day. And Happy Fall. :)

Fresh Honeyblossom
Hello Happy Thursday! It's Anita from http://craftygrldesigns.blogspot.com/ and I am happy to be here today! Before I share my card I wanted to remind you about our Fall Blog Hop and Challenge! We would love for you to play along, for more info please click here.
Today I have a card to share using the Basic Grey What's Up? 6 by 6 pad and the Honeyblossom Sprig die by Memory Box!
I die cut the honeyblossom sprig from a solid piece from the What's Up? pad and all papers are from it. Stamped a sentiment by Hero Arts, Good Friends. Used a Ek Success punch for the edge, Scrapbooking Cafe has lots of EK Success punches, check it out here. Added a strip of white lace and pearls to finish the card off! :> This card is so fresh to me!
Well that's it from me! Have yourself a great day, tomorrow is Friday! :>

2 min Christmas card
Sorry for breaking the chain but I can't even see the top of my desk nor have I been in my room in over a week so there is just no way I can straighten it out right now. But since I no longer have a spot at my desk I was forced to make a 5 min card and to be honest it took maybe 2 min to make. That's it! I was surprised how fast it came together, mind you it's a CAS card but sometimes I do manage to pull one off!! LOL
Just so you know I have a bunch of cards cut and folded and ready to decorate. I keep about 5 kraft, white, red, blue, pink and what ever other colour I have on hand.
Take your die Elegant Reindeer from Cottage Cutz and cut one piece of white and one piece of red cardstock
Assemble the reindeer and add 3D Foam to the back.
Stamp sentiment and then adhere the reindeer.
That's it!!

My most beloved work bench
HI everyone! Becky really inspired me with her scraproom post yesterday. The problem is, my scraproom is in NO SHAPE to be photographed at the moment, even if I could find my camera under the piles of paper, ha!
But inspiration should never be taken lightly, so I decided to share my favourite item in my scrap space: my work bench! Yep, not my storage or my shelves, my "table" is my item by far.
The thing is, I built it myself (OK, hubbie helped a little)! I bought and old dresser (thanks Kijiji!), sanded, painted, added a top and voilĂ ! A standing work bench:
I found out a while a go that I really like to stand while scrapbooking. It was easier to move around and find things in my stash. I'm odd that way, but hey, it works pretty well for me! As you can see, I just added a top to a dresser, and all of a sudden I had a work bench and 9 drawers to store my inkpads, templates and tools. Cool, huh!
Now here is another shot, I took it as soon as I finished organizing. I have to say that look lasted less than 30 minutes afteran F5 Tornado hit it I started working on a new page. :)
So, why don't you share with us your favourite spot in your scraproom?
Thanks or stopping by,
Dani Donner

my happy scrappy place :)
Hi friends! Today I want to introduce you to my happy place :) It's not much, but it is all mine and I love it. We live in a tiny cramped little house, but my hunny has been nice enough to allow me to take over this corner of the kitchen for my scrapbooking.
I love to see how other people store and organize their scrapbooking stuff so I thought I would share my space with you.
This is pretty much my workspace right here...Let me break it all down for you.
This is the area to the left of my workspace. Our family computer is here and on the shelves you can see where I store my full sheets of cardstock as well as some other mixed media goodies on the top shelf.
This antique sideboard holds most of my stuff. I have labelled everything for you, but keep scrolling down for some close ups. Let's first take a look at the stuff on the top of the sideboard...
For now my copics live in this green bag. Right now they are organized into warm and cool colors. I have plans for alternate storage but I haven't been able to put it into use yet. I store my ink pads in the plastic bin on the bottoms there and all the other inky stuff like embossing ink, mists, heat gun, sponges etc, and probably a few more ink pads are in the basket on top.
The blue box holds my dies and embossing folders. I don't have that many right now so the box works quite nicely. When my collection grows, which I am sure it will do, I'll have to figure something else out. The large hanging folder box keeps my papers all contained. I organize them by manufacturer so I can find what I'm looking for. At the back of the bin, I have some files organized by color to hold smaller paper scraps. Then of course there is my ancient cuttlebug....it's about 8 years old I think, and it's still kickin!
Now for the inside...
This is the top left drawer of the sideboard. As you can see it holds my punches, although I am rapidly running out of room in there. I may have to figure out something else soon, cause I love punches! they are just so darn heavy!
In the bottom left door I keep my bigger containers.
This embellishment basket holds most of my misc embellies. I like to keep them in the manufacturer's packages so I can remember the names etc. for blog posts and project submissions. This basket usually lives on my desk for easy access, but when I get all tidied up it lives in the bottom right cupboard door.
The long drawer that goes the length of the sideboard holds a mishmash of other 'stuff.' I didn't take a picture of the inside of it because you wouldn't be able to tell what anything was in the mess so I took a few things out to show you...

I am using old plastic containers from Stampin Up stamps to hold my flowers. I have one for each color family: Red/Pink, Orange, Yellow, Green, Purple, Blue, Black/White, Brown/Cream.
I looooove washi tape, but I am just starting to grow my collection. Right now they live in a little cardboard box in that long drawer...nothing fancy. I would love to have them out where I can see them while I work, but as you can see space is limited.
On the first picture of my space you might have noticed a green cloth bag hanging from the door of the sideboard. That bag holds my cardstock scraps...let me show you...

I have an 8.5x11 page protector for each color of paper. All the scraps of a certain color are thrown in there and all the page protectors are kept in the green bag.
This box is my FAVORITE storage item! It is actually meant to organize photos but I just love it for keeping my stray embellies in check (in rainbow order of course). I've got everything in these; brads, buttons, jewels, twine, paperclips etc.
This is the view from under my table. The green grocery store bin holds my projects that are already organized and ready to go, or projects that I have started but not completed. In the old suitcase I have stamp sets that I am currently using so that they are ready and on hand.
And now for the top of my workspace...
And now for the top of my workspace...
And my scrappy buddy Paisley, who loves to sit by the window and watch for the neighbours kitties to go by!
Now I cleaned up my space to share it with you but let's be real here. My table is never so tidy! it usually looks something like this...
or WORSE! lol ;)
What does your happy scrappy space look like? I would love to see it! Link it up to the comments secion so I can see!
Have a great day!

Masculine Fall Card
Hello! Happy Thursday! It's Anita from http://www.craftygrldesigns.blogspot.ca/! I don't know about you but here in Winnipeg the Fall weather has found us. All traces of our gorgeous summer is gone and we've been left with dreary fall weather! :> Today I have a fall card to share, not sure why but I often associate fall cards with masculine cards and since I always need more masculine cards I may as well right? Today I am sharing a card featuring the Poppy Stamp die Lorelei Leaf!
I stamped the newspaper background by Hero Arts onto white cardstock. I than die cut the Lorelai Leaf and used the negative, placing the solid back sheet of a Basic Grey paper behind it (I like how it's not a solid color but has other colors in it) Than I distressed the paper with both a Ranger distress tool and Tim Holtz Distress Ink antique linen (I inked the middle of the paper) and Vintage Photo (the edges) The sentiment is from Hero Arts All Occasion Messages, and tied some red Baker's Twine!
Hope you've been inspired! :> See you next week!

Make a Splash
Good morning! Today I have a fun little card to show you using the new paper set called Cake Walk by October Afternoon. I love this paper pack, it's so cute and vintage. I didn't have a wave punch so I drew some random "c" shapes and cut them out of blue cardstock.
The clouds are from Memory Box and I added glitter from Stampendous called Shaved Ice and the stamps are from There She Goes called Make a Splash.
Thanks for stopping by :)

Don't forget your backpack!
Hi, everyone! Dani Donner here today bringing you some Too Cool for School altered project and a tutorial. I found this
super cute altered item at Lisa Storms' website
(one talented lady) and fell madly in love with them. SO this week I
decided to give one for each of my boys' teachers and here is the
tutorial:
I used the Best Glue Ever to cover the small cardboard box (don't forget to lightly sand it, helps adhere the paper) with pattern paper. Added a pattern paper lid to the back of the box. You may want to put a small magnet in the lid and seal it in with some cardboard to make things sturdier. Embellish the front. Add two stripes of pattern paper to the back to complete the backpack and... Done! You have a cute little backpack that you can ill with chocolate and give as a gift for the teacher or even or other students (imagine a Halloween themed one, cute!). Here is a better look at the finished project:
Supplies List:
American Crafts - Shoreline
Basic Grey - Paper Cottage
October Afternoon - Woodland Park
My Minds Eye brad - Miss Caroline
October Afternoon - Schoolhouse
I hope you have like the project! See you soon...

just sayin...
Hello friends! Becky here with you from Scrap Circus. I have a sweet little baby layout to share with you today using Crate Paper's Little Boy Blue line. I absolutley love this line! It comes with many other colors including green, yellow, brown and grey but I decided to focus on the blue and red for this layout.
I printed my journaling out on the computer using my favorite font called Vintage Typewriter. I cut up the journaling into strips and attached them to my page.
I love to cluster groups of different embellishments. It adds great texture and dimension to the layout.
Scrap Cafe products used:
Little Boy Blue Collection-Crate Paper
Thickers-American Crafts
other products used (ask Kristy about ordering them in for you)
wood shapes-Crate Paper (Little Bo Peep line)
